Over 70 animal attacks have been reported aboard the Vande Bharat Express, a luxury train run by Indian Railways, in the last six months. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, in a written response to the Lok Sabha on December 14, provided this information.
The train, which runs on eight national routes, is furnished with a coupler cover made of fibre-reinforced plastic mounted in front to absorb the shock of a hit. The shell construction of the train is composed of high-grade steel. The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 has been improved with features including a Wi-Fi content on-demand facility and a faster acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 52 seconds.
Improved Features of Vande Bharat 2.0
It is also ecologically beneficial thanks to a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification technology placed in the roof-mounted package unit and dust-free clean air cooling of the traction motor.
The updated Vande Bharat Express, popularly known as Vande Bharat 2.0, the top train of the Indian Railways, has been introduced by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The train travels on six national lines and has struck an animal 68 times in the previous six months.
According to Vaishnaw in a written response to the Lok Sabha, the coupler cover installed in front of the train as part of the nose cone is made of fibre-reinforced plastic to cushion the shock of a strike. At the same time, the shell construction of the Vande Bharat coach is constructed of high-grade steel.
Environmental Benefits of Vande Bharat 2.0
With its enhanced Vande Bharat Express 2.0, you may go from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in just 52 seconds and up to 180 kilometres per hour at its top speed. It will include a Wi-Fi content on-demand function and weigh 392 tonnes as opposed to the 430 tonnes of the last iteration. In contrast to the previous version’s 24″ displays for passenger infotainment, this one has 32″ screens in every coach. With ACs that are 15% more energy-efficient and traction motors that are cooled by clean, dust-free air, the train will also be more ecologically friendly.
A photo-catalytic UV air purification system will be placed in the Roof-Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) as part of Vande Bharat Express 2.0’s new design to purify the air. This system is built and placed on both ends of the RMPU as advised by Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, to filter and clean the air free of germs, bacteria, viruses, etc.
Advanced Safety Measures on Vande Bharat 2.0
The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 offers a variety of improved and aircraft-like travelling experiences because of its cutting-edge safety measures, which include an indigenously built Train Collision Avoidance System called KAVACH. Once the Vande Bharat trains with overnight accommodations are implemented, the Union Minister for Railways has guaranteed that the train will go further distances.
