75 More Vande Bharat Express Trains to Join the Fleet of Eight Currently Operating in India

The country has seven advanced high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains until January 12, 2023. On January 15, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the 8th Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam.

Advanced Technology The Vande Bharat Express trains use Kavach technology, which helps avoid train crashes. All seats in these trains recline, with the Executive Coaches featuring 180-degree rotating chairs.

Luxurious Features The trains have automated doors, a GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, entertainment hotspot Wi-Fi, and luxurious seats.

Launch and Operation Dates

• Vande Bharat Express began service on February 18, 2019, on the Delhi-Varanasi-Thyagraj-Kanpur route. It operates Monday through Thursday, excluding Monday and Thursday.
• Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express (Jammu and Kashmir) was inaugurated by Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs, on October 3, 2019, and began commercial operation on October 5. The train operates Monday through Saturday.
• The Gandhinagar-Mumbai train debuted on September 30, 2022, and operates six days a week, excluding Sundays.
• The fourth train debuted on October 13, 2022, and operates six days a week.
• On November 10, 2022, the sixth Vande Bharat Express became operational, running six days a week, excluding Wednesday.
• The sixth Vande Bharat Express was launched on December 11, 2022, running six days a week, excluding Saturdays.
• The seventh Vande Bharat Express started on December 30, 2022, and operates six days a week, excluding Wednesday.
• The 8th Vande Bharat Express was introduced on January 15, 2023.
